Local Patron Terms

Last updated: October 2026 · For Australian businesses

These terms cover Local Patron sponsorships on StallTrust Australia. StallTrust is a New Zealand business (NZBN 9429044639372). By creating a Patron account or subscribing, you agree to these terms.

1. What patronage is

A Local Patron sponsorship shows your business's card in the StallTrust app and web app to people browsing stalls in the federal divisions (electorates) you choose. Your card shows your business name, logo, a one-line tagline and a link. If an area has more than one patron, the patrons take turns: each time someone opens another stall, the next patron’s card shows. One card at a time — no banners, no pop-ups.

Patron cards are underwriting, not hard-sell advertising: they say who you are and where you are (see section 3).

3. Card content rules

We approve every card before it goes live. We reject cards that include:

Cards that follow these rules and the AANA Code of Ethics are normally approved within 24 hours.

4. Our editorial promise

We never sell placement of stalls themselves. The stall map, search results, trust scores and reviews stay independent. Patronage only affects the dedicated Local Patron card, never which stalls people find.

5. Who can be a patron

Patrons must be Australian businesses with a valid ABN and an Australian business address. At checkout you confirm your business is based in Australia and the advertising is for use in Australia. We may check your ABN on the Australian Business Register, and we may suspend or end a sponsorship if the details don't match or the business is in a prohibited industry.

6. Billing, GST and cancelling

7. Service

StallTrust is run on a best-effort basis without a formal service-level agreement. If the app is unavailable for more than 24 hours in a row through our fault, we'll credit you for the affected days on your next invoice. We back up patron and campaign data daily and will email paying patrons within 24 hours about any major problem affecting their card.

8. Ending a sponsorship

We keep payment records for 7 years, as New Zealand tax law requires. Other personal information is deleted on request (see section 10).

9. Liability

Our liability for any claim about your patronage is limited to the lesser of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or A$5,000. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or goodwill.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't lawfully be excluded.

10. Privacy

We collect your business name, ABN, business address, GST registration answer, contact email, website and billing details (card details are held by Stripe, not us). We use them to run your account, bill you, contact you and keep tax records. See our Privacy Policy for details and your rights.

11. Changes to these terms

We'll email you at least 30 days before any material change. If you don't agree, you can cancel; your current month stays under the terms you signed up on.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law and the courts of New Zealand, except where the Australian Consumer Law gives you the right to rely on Australian law or bring proceedings in Australia.
